Michael Jordan’s fourth signature shoe, the Jordan 4 “UNC,” pays homage to the University of North Carolina. In addition to being the first-ever Jordan 4 to feature a “UNC” motif, this sneaker follows previous Air Jordans to incorporate the theme-the Air Jordan 3 “UNC” and the Women’s Air Jordan 1 Mid “UNC” from 2020.
A number of athletic details are featured in the look, including the nylon Jumpman branding on the suede tongue being embellished with a removable name tag similar to the product tag on the bottom of a basketball jersey. University Blue suede construction is contrasted with tonal mesh detailing on the tongue and mid-panel. Black plastic lace holders adorn the throat and collar, while the plastic “Wings” tabs are made to recall the “Cement” look. On the mudguard and on the back of the shoe both have the classic “Cement” detailing. At the heel, a visible Air unit makes things complete.
